Lana Del Rey: "Video Games"

Once again, I have missed the boat. In deciding which songs to post on this blog, I have to perform a bit of a balancing act. I try to only post songs that I really like. This takes a little bit of filtering. However, I also try to only post songs that are brand new.

Anyway, about a month or two ago, I came across a few songs by Lana Del Rey. I decided against giving them a proper listen. My bad. A couple nights ago, I revisited these songs and now I am obsessed. However, I am posting this now. Better late than never, I guess.

Check out Lana Del Rey's "Video Games" video below:

Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin: "Yellow Missing Signs"

Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, released their third album, Let It Sway, earlier this year. However, they are now releasing Tape Club--a collection of album rejects accumulated over the band's history. Among the many fine tracks therein is "Yellow Missing Signs" a dark, but catchy number. Check it out here:

Stone Darling: "Baby Come Home"

Los Angeles-area girl-country-garage-band genre Stone Darling has struck a chord with me. This tune, "Baby Come Home," is quite nice. The band will release an EP in November. Until then, check out "Baby Come Home" below.

Eight And A Half consists of members of established bands, The Stills and Broken Social Scene. A full album is expected in 2012 sometime. However, until that unspecified date draws near, you will have to be content with listening to "Scissors," a good song.

Phantogram: "Don't Move"

I dropped the ball on this one a bit, I'm afraid. However, in case this song is unfamiliar to you, check it out. It's all over, it seems. It's pretty darn catchy, too.

"Don't Move" will be included on the album, Nightlife, along with five others. Due out November 1, 2011.
